  • Ethanol APC Solution®                                             

    With today’s tighter margins, optimization is more important than ever.

    As Matrikon’s exclusive representative to the biofuels market in the US, AATG has allied with ICM to develop and prove the Ethanol APC Solution® for ethanol plants. This advanced control system provides multivariable model based predictive controllers to optimize control of key plant operations to improve operations and profitability. The system gives operators a better tool for keeping plant KPIs in the optimum range by reducing the variability of the process. It allows operating the plant much closer to constraints which increases production and profits.

    There have been other successful APC applications in ethanol plants in the past. However, by utilizing Matrikon’s Control Performance Monitor™ to automate pretesting of PID control performance and using Tai Ji™ to automate model identification while developing the controllers we have significantly reduced the manual labor required and the cost of model based advanced control. We achieved similar improvements in plant operation and profitability to what was achieved in previous applications, but at significantly lower cost. Our lower cost improves the rate of return and payout period. For the first time it is possible for all ethanol plants to afford this technology.

    The Ethanol Operation Dashboard® is a web-based data-visualization and KPI-dashboard solution for ethanol plants

    Based on Matrikon Operational Insight™ and standards based technology, AATG’s Ethanol Operational Dashboard® is especially designed to enable ethanol producers to make better operational decisions by providing the right people with the data they need, when they need it, and in the format they require.  The system connects to any real-time, historical and relational data sources.
